Impulse Gamer - Lost Planet 3 Review

Added: 05.09.2013 7:18 | 8 views | 0 comments

Impulse Gamer - Lost Planet 3 has unfortunately "lost" its way in this harsh snow filled world of alien monsters, greed and space politics. Although reminiscent of the previous title, Lost Planet 3 sadly feels a little too generic, especially the gameplay and more importantly, the threats that you face. Graphically, it's an impressive looking game that clashes with the dated gaming mechanics. It was almost there.

Lost Planet 3 Review | HAL

Ross Hartley: "Lost Planet 3 is a weird game to review. It's my favourite Lost Planet game, but that isn't saying much. It's my favourite Spark Unlimited game, but that isn't saying very much. It is a decent third-person shooter, but there are loads of better ones out there. It is definitely a fun game for a while as the combat is satisfying and the environment looks fantastic. But after a few hours, you realise Lost Planet 3 doesn't have many other tricks up its sleeve and the experience becomes rather monotonous. I wouldn't pay full price for it but action fans might want to check it out at some point."

Unfortunately, just like the snow covered planet that provides the backdrop for the franchises difficult third instalment, StickTwiddlers suspect that many people are going feel like they have been left out in the cold with the latest iteration.

Joystiq - This week's Super Joystiq Podcast is ironically into controversial comedies about current political issues. It's back to the regular format with Ludwig, Xav, and Richard hitting the big news of the week right at the top of the show, the Nintendo 2DS, and then it's onto the games. Lost Planet 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, and Splinter Cell: Blacklist all get their due time. Also on tap, a lengthy discussion on story in games, and Uwe Boll's latest (literal) money grab.

Lost Planet 3 Review | NZGamer

It wasnt long ago that the original Lost Planet was unveiled with a trailer that promised a lot in what was the very early days of the Xbox 360. A snow world, giant insects, lots of shooting, and giant mechs to stomp about in. While it didnt end up wowing as many people as expected, it did well enough to eventually warrant the creation of a sequel.
